Due to the forecast of sleet, ice and snow, Shawnee R-III will be closed tomorrow, Thurs. Feb. 17th. It will be a snow day, no AMI.

5th & 6th graders used paired texts about Alcatraz to complete an escape room. Only one group completed all three puzzles to escape Alcatraz before time was up!!





The 1st and 2nd graders celebrated Valentine’s Day and the 100th day of school on Monday.


First graders celebrated the 100th day on Monday. They put their snack into groups of ten and counted to a hundred in different ways.




The 5th and 6th grade are working on lab stations to learn more about the lunar cycle, phases of the moon.





The Kindergarteners celebrated 100th day.


3rd-8th graders enjoyed an afternoon of games, snacks, and a movie!





Due to snow totals, road conditions and extreme cold temperatures, Shawnee will be closed again tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 4th. Enjoy your weekend.

First and second grade tested the way things move using paint and a straw.





7th & 8th graders enjoyed a game of Plot Structure Showdown this morning to review the parts of a plot.



The fifth through eighth grade students were working together helping each other to solve multi-step problems in math classes.




The second graders were excited to partner up with the seventh and eighth graders in STEM class. Together they created with magnatiles, dominos and other types of connect objects.




First grade using some new math skills to complete a math challenge online.

The seventh and eighth grade students have been learning about atomic structures. They were working on a lab to figure out what elements they were seeing based on the models by determining the number of electrons, neutrons, and protons were in each example.





School will be closed Thurs. and Friday (Jan. 20 & 21st) due to absences. AMI days will be utilized. Students will be held accountable for completing assigned work.

5th-8th graders in Mrs. Hall’s ELA classes enjoyed creating, and then playing, board games over the story they read in class.








The Kindergarten Class is working on a Science Unit about the Five Senses. For the Sense of Taste they tried a variety of different foods and classified them as salty, sweet, sour, or bitter.





5th and 6th grade students are working on science labs covering gravity and the solar system.
